Samsung Videowall Displays Reducing Bezel Width Even Further

Videowalls are gaining a lot of traction across the industry as a great solution for a large-scale, high impact digital display endpoint. With the ability to arrange multiple displays in almost any layout, videowalls are a great custom solution, and companies like Samsung have helped take the solution to new heights by reducing the bezels even more.   What is a bezel and why is that important? Great question. The bezel is the outer frame element of a flatscreen display. Previously that outer frame, the bezel, used to be wider and sometimes even has the manufacturer’s logo on it. But in the case of videowalls, when you are putting these displays side-by-side to create one large canvas, these bezels become very apparent as they are the black gap between your display canvas. That’s why we got excited when we heard that Samsung reduced their bezel-to-bezel width by 33%, making their commercial videowall displays one of the narrowest bezel widths in the industry.   That reduction in bezel size helps simplify the overall solution and gives a more seamless experience. Before, some content and videowall solutions were created to account for that gap programmatically. Especially when text letter crossed that bezel gap, it started to affect readability of certain words and didn’t give that seamless, professional outcome. Today we’re hearing less feedback on that bezel gap and clients seem to be thrilled with how visually it isn’t distracting, especially from the target user viewing distance which is usually over 10-15 feet away.   With the ability of videowalls to achieve very high resolutions, even past 4k, we’re excited those bezel gaps are now hardly noticeable, especially when you think of the beautifully stunning graphics and visuals that span across the full background of a large-scale video wall. Once you start arranging a larger number of displays, you can keep each display at its native resolution, allowing for a custom large-scale canvas that provides a very impressive visual impact. We’ve created content up to approx. 10k and love the fact that videowalls can support it with little bezel affect now days.   From briefing centers, corporate lobbies, to customer retail locations, videowalls are becoming more prevalent. We love to see industry leaders like Samsung pushing their solutions to be more effective and stay ahead of feedback like making the bezels thinner for videowalls.
